Arbomap: Mapping dengue virus transmission intensity
Arbomap is an interactive global dashboard estimating where, when and how intensely dengue virus circulates. It draws on decades of seroprevalence and case data, run through transmission models, to produce country- and subnational-level estimates of dengue force of infection (FOI) — the rate at which susceptible people are infected over time.
For DeZi partners, Arbomap is a complementary lens to ArboTracker: ArboTracker shows what has been measured (study-by-study seroprevalence and outbreak detections); Arbomap synthesises those data into a coherent risk surface that informs where vaccination, vector control and surveillance investments will have the most impact. Although DeZi spans +20 countries, Arbomap covers 24% of its admin-1 regions through DeZi territory. The network sits squarely on the highest-transmission belt of the planet.
