9th Singapore International Dengue Workshop (SIDW)

The DeZi Network participated in the 9th Singapore International Dengue Workshop (SIDW), a leading forum bringing together researchers, public health practitioners and policymakers working on dengue and other arboviral threats. The meeting provided an opportunity to share recent advances in genomic surveillance, transmission dynamics, and control strategies across endemic regions.

A key highlight was the participation of colleagues from Cabo Verde, Angola and Guinea‑Bissau, reflecting DeZi’s commitment to strengthening collaborations across Africa. Discussions focused on the growing importance of vector control, diagnostic capacity, and real‑time genomic data to track viral lineages, improve outbreak detection, and support evidence‑based public health responses in diverse epidemiological settings.

The workshop further reinforced the value of international partnerships and multi-source data approaches to address the rising burden of mosquito‑borne diseases under climate and demographic change.
