Ten years after the Zika Public Health Emergency

Zika: a continuing global blind spot

Ten years after Zika was declared a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) in February 2016, the virus has faded from headlines but remains a significant global threat. Wellcome Trust highlights the importance of sustained investment in surveillance, research, and prevention, and features the DeZi Network as part of Wellcome-supported efforts to better understand Zika, its links with dengue, and how to protect vulnerable populations.
